What he does for CGCC: After 20 years in youth ministry, Jim’s role now focuses on Outreach … beginning with local outreach in evangelism and community projects, and reaching to the missions’ effort beyond us in different cultures. His role is morphing as he seeks to blend ministry beyond our walls with strategic use of lives and resources for the work of the Lord Jesus. He also teaches some Sundays and has been a staff pastor since 1988 participating on certain leadership teams.
Family: “My high school sweetheart, Barkley, became my bride and Queen, and we’ve been blessed with three daughters (Haylee, Erin and Kaci) who are all breaking my heart slowly as they mature. We love movies (mostly chic flics), the beach and the pool, music and hanging out.”
The college years: “This was where life came together for me … While pursing a degree in accounting, the lifelong athlete in me met the reality of hanging up the cleats and found a life-changing faith in Jesus. I finished out the degree at Cal Poly Pomona, certain that I was called to ministry. My couple years of campus life with Campus Crusade for Christ showed me the simplicity of talking to people about Jesus and investing in those who turn to Him. I entered Talbot (part of Biola University) for a Master’s degree and spent much of the three years after that graduation looking for a great fit … and found it at Crossroads.”
What makes him laugh: Almost anything! “Zit’s” comic strip and years of memories with the Crossroads’ youth and youth workers
What he’s passionate about: Jim is passionate about reaching the unreached, near or far, and coaching soccer. He wants others to see Jesus in the way he lives his life…to be intrigued and encouraged. He wants his life to count! Thus, he wakes and walks, and he talks a lot!

What he’s passionate about: Seeing people get away from the temporary and fleeting things that we become engrossed and enslaved in, in order that we would start living the lives that God intends for us to live, playing whatever role it is that God has written for us in his epic and beautiful story.
Previously in life: “I have been a regular attender and member at Crossroads now for around 13 years. I attended the youth group, interned and worked with the college group all under the supervision of Jim Todd so it was a blessing and a great honor for Pastor Jim to ask me to be his successor. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Societal Communication while at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego and while I was away I was able to pray a lot about the position and seek where God was leading me. In many ways, it’s like God called me to come home.”
